Organization

For me last week was hectic with school. I had parts of a project due, two papers, and of course homework and studying. For the most part I'm a pretty neat and organized person. Some of my friends say I have O.C.D. with some things...and i can't really disagree. So this week I thought I would talk about staying organized with your school work, and even outside of school events and activities. For me personally, I love our school agenda books. I write EVERYTHING in that thing! It's seriously a life saver, because there are days where I'm so tired or just can't remember what I need to bring home that night, but because I write all of my assignments down, I usually never forget! Some of my friends who don't write their homework or upcoming quizzes or tests down tend to forget or have to be reminded of what it is that's due or what's happening later in the week. I'm not saying that the agenda book is the only way to remember your assignments, there's plenty of other ways to do so, but you have to find what works best for you. I also like to keep things in my room pretty organized as well. If I don't I tend to lose or misplace a lot of my stuff. I hate when I misplace things more than anything, so I try to stay as on top of things as I possibly can. If you can figure out a way of organization that works well for you than you're doing pretty good. I think a lot of us can get stressed out easily when we know we have a million things going on but can't think of them all at once. It gets to be a lot. Writing things down, using a calendar, your cell phone, computer, all these are great ideas when keeping organized. I promise that the overwhelming feeling you get the night before you have 3 tests in school will subside if you prepare yourself and know where all of your notes are to study with. You'll be able to review everything with no problem at all!

  1. I agree with everything. It's all true, but I never listen to it. I always learn my lesson with organization but I just don't listen to it. I've found a lazy organization way that works for me, so I plan on keeping it that way.

  2. Bridget-what a helpful and informative post! I certainly can relate to the feeling of being stressed and overwhelmed with everything going on in life. Lately, I haven't been as orgaanized as I usually am and I've definitely noticed the negative impact this has made on my work. This encouraged me to get things back in order again. Thanks Bridget! <33333333-Rachel

  4. You are totally right about organization. It is a great of keeping track of homework, tests, and up-coming projects. It also relieves the stress that we all get when we feel like we are swimming in a sea of work. Not all of us can be organized, but it is the little things that count. like marking a calendar, or just putting a reminder in our smartphones.

  5. Bridget, organization is a huge issue for teens so this topic seems very much keeping with the aims of your blog. I would have liked a little more structure--maybe a separate section for school organization versus home, but there were lots of great tips here!
